Family Work Party 2019

Grandpa Rae & Uncle Mark “This is how you do life”

As most of us are aware, Mark has followed in his father’s footsteps and embodied his example of hard work and selflessness in the name of love for his family. Pictured is the first of over 100 homes that Mark built and what a great testament it is to his father, knowing that the beginning of his career was pictured here, taken in the early 1980’s. This is an image of faithful obedience, love, sacrifice and most importantly the priceless benefits of teaching your children vital survival skills.

After 35 years of blood sweat and tears, Mark is nearing retirement. In preparation for this life event he has built for himself and his lovely wife, Sharon, a modest one bedroom cabin, behind the log home that he built to raise his children in.

Mark and Sharon have worked extremely hard their entire lives to provide for themselves and their 3 children. Sharon dedicated a majority of her work career in a medical office as a support staff. The fruit of their labor served to be a huge benefit to the companies that they served, as they often accepted market value wages in exchange for their extremely valuable time, talent and energy. More often than not the wages that they received were barely enough to cover the bills. Even so, they still contributed to both family and community emergencies when they could.

For all these reasons, and because they have been a major blessing in my life and for my children, I have organized a moving party to help Mark and Sharon get settled into their new home and finalize various small projects they have remaining on their property. Which in turn will allow them to relax into their much deserved retirement.

So this is the plan, I have recruited 4 labor volunteers to travel with me to the work site. Though this is a good size crew, many hands make light work, so I strongly encourage other family members to participate as well. We will leave Friday at around 6:30. We will have a bon fire & bbq that evening. Assign projects and settle in. We plan to stay the weekend, click on the following links to view the work projects:

If you can’t be at the work party but would like to help financially, do feel encouraged to send Mark & Sharon whatever you feel comfortable giving. In honor and celebration of their life of selfless sacrifices in the name of God, Family and Community.

Much Love,

Michelle
